I2PL Permanent Hair Removal
What is I2PL?
I2PL (2nd Generation Intense Pulsed Light) is FDA approved for skin rejuvenation and can be used for many treatments.
I2PL is considered the Gold Standard for Permanent Hair Removal. It is also very versatile, and can be used to treat (hyperlink = active acne and blemishes, and other concerns such as (hyperlink = skin rejuvenation).
The I2PL machine uses short, safe bursts of light emitted from a flash lamp to treat specific skin conditions. The proprietary system very carefully controls the delivery of the light – the amount of light and speed of delivery is accurate tailored to your skin condition.
In I2PL Permanent Hair Removal, the light wave is calibrated to target melanin in the hair shaft. This energy then permanently destroys the hair root responsible for producing hair.
And unlike older Intense Pulsed Light machines, I2PL features an exclusive dual mode filtering technology that eliminates potentially harmful light wavelengths that are unnecessary, reducing treatment time and maximising your results and comfort.
We recommend that you shave the areas to be treated at least a day before treatment for greater comfort.
Benefits of I2PL Permanent Hair Removal
- A step up from the older Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) technology, I2PL offers drastically more effective and safer treatments
- Number of sessions required will be significantly lesser than that of more commercial IPL hair removals
- I2PL’s advanced light filtering technology makes treatments a lot more comfortable than with older IPL models
- As a bonus, SkinLab’s I2PL Permanent Hair Removal will also disperse unwanted pigmentation found around the treatment areas
Safety
Because I2PL is a light-based technology, people with darker complexions possess a higher risk of skin burns due to the higher melanin levels absorbing the light energy.
In addition, sensitive skin conditions such as eczema, rosacea and psoriasis may react adversely. In the above such cases, there may be skin redness, burning and stinging sensation, and in very rare cases, dermatitis in hypersensitive individuals.
Our consultants will take the time to discuss whether your goals and expectations for the treatment are realistic, and also discuss with you all our I2PL Permanent Hair Removal benefits and risks.
